Im Emy, I started Silkology as I wanted to create a hub where people could buy the best quality silk products to protect their hair & skin and to keep it healthy. 

My clients is where it all started, I’ve had a long career in the field of hair loss, specialising in hair replacement and hair extensions and own a well established salon in London. In the course of my career, iv seen the devastating effects of hair loss and hair damage, and so I wanted to create luxurious products that would help my clients keep their hair, and extensions/hair replacement systems in tip top condition, although it is important to also use professional quality products on your hair, sometimes it needs that little bit extra, and thats where silk comes in! After all, if you’re going to be spending hundreds or even thousands of pounds on your hair, then you want to keep it looking and feeling amazing for as long as possible, right?

Why silk?

Materials like cotton are very absorbent, and while it’s a great choice for your bath towel, it’s not so good for your pillowcases. Cotton pillowcases will literally suck the moisture out of your hair and skin. Silk, on the other hand, is not absorbent so it will help maintain hydration. 

Cotton pillowcases also cause friction which can cause hair damage and breakage. Silk reduces friction and will keep your hair looking shiny and smooth for longer-no tugging or pulling, and definitely no bedhead! 

I’ve spent lots of time and money finding the right partner to bring my vision to life and help me create the best quality thick silk that is dreamily soft and of course, Oeko Tex certified. 

Among our product range there are the most sumptuous 22 momme Mulberry silk pillowcases, as well as gorgeous silk bonnets, and scrunchies. 

Even though my motivation for creating these products was to help clients look after their hair, silk is also very beneficial for skin health and reducing allergies too, do you ever wake up with lines on your face? where you've slept with your face on the pillow, this does not happen on silk as its so soft your skin just glides across it, meaning it helps to reduce premature wrinkles! 

So what makes our silk so different?

Well of course we wanted to bring you the best silk on the market, and this had to be 100% Mulberry silk, that is 22 momme, grade 6A, but we went further than that, Our silk fabric is 3x purified after the treatment process, which results in our silk being 3x shinier, smoother and silkier than standard grade 6A 22 momme, giving you the absolute best in silk!
